Northeast Missouri Deer Hunting

DBO Missouri Whitetails LLC offers whitetail deer hunting opportunities outside the community of Shelbina, Missouri and the surrounding area. Most of our leases are in the hardwood bottoms of the Salt River and North River drainage which is known for trophy potential. We attempt to give our customers a great experience with an affordable price. We are not a big commercial outfitter which allows us to focus on what our clients’ needs.

DBO Missouri Whitetails LLC works closely with our land owners to put you on some of the hottest deer activity in Northeast Missouri. We like to discuss each day what each client is seeing and relocate you if possible to make every second on the stand count. Our farms have limited hunting pressure throughout the year and we work hard to get you in the heart of the action.

Missouri consistently ranks in the top five states in the nation for trophy whitetails and we are strategically located within an hour drive of world famous Pike County Illinois and the southeast tip of Iowa border. Both these areas are historical hotbeds for big deer herds and great genetics.

DBO Missouri Whitetails LLC started in 2015 as a dream for owners Roger and Karen Tharpe to enable friends and family to experience world class Missouri whitetail and turkey hunting. Roger researched several areas of the Midwest for his dream and settled on a small community in Northeast Missouri called Shelbina, MO. For 8 years he leased farms in and around the city of Shelbina and surrounding Shelby County area. He invited friends, family, and selected guests and had tremendous success chasing and harvesting world class whitetails. Roger saw a business opportunity to open up his operation to to a select number of clients each year, so he established DBO Whitetails LLC at the end of 2017. He currently has access to 42 farms with over 7000 acres in 3 different counties of Missouri crop land and hardwood bottoms. These farms are prime habitat for whitetail bucks and gobbling toms that Missouri is world famous for.

Quality Deer Management Trophy Farms

We have several farms that we practice QDM. We consider these farms, trophy farms. There are no additional fees to hunt these farms, but, you must follow our rules and guidelines. A buck must be a minimum of 41/2 years old or 140 inches to be harvested. If you harvest a buck on DBO's trophy farms that doesn't meet our minimum, you will be fined $1000. We will show you many examples of mature bucks to help you make a judgement while in the field. Our non-trophy farms do not have a minimum or a fine. We understand that what may not be a trophy to one hunter is a trophy to another. We offer these farms to hunters that have never taken a racked buck with a bow or kids and women looking for their first buck. Although we do ask that you hold out for at least a 130 inch buck. The only rules that we have for these farms is if he's big enough to kill, then you must have him mounted.Hunters travel to the mid-west to harvest a big whitetail, so taking a 120 inch buck is defeating the purpose. We have these rules and minimums in place to benefit our farms and you as our future customers. This is to assure we have more mature bucks in the future.

DBO Missouri Whitetail LLC offers affordable whitetail hunts in prime deer country. Please remember we do not offer a guaranteed hunt and this is not a "canned hunt". None of our farms are high fences and all animals are free range. We provide opportunities to hunt farms that have proven to produce large Midwestern whitetails. You will have to earn your trophy and we will work very hard to get you a shot opportunity. In return, we expect you to hunt just as hard to maximize your time in the field. Our experienced guides/landowners are very familiar with our farms and the terrain will do there very best to put clients on trophy game.

Our hunt packages include meals and lodging. Meals consist of a light breakfast , lunch consist of bag lunch with variety of cold meats and snacks for the blind. At the end of the day our cook will prepare home style meals to prepare you for the next day of hunting. (Please let us know at the time of booking if you have special dietary needs so we can be prepared when you arrive.)

How Do I Book a Hunt

I am ready to book a hunt, now what?

How to reserve your hunt:

Contact us to insure the availability of dates. Reserving a date can be done by phone or email. Once confirmation is given by DBO representative the date request is good for ten business days. ½ deposit of hunting cost is required to reserve dates. Deposit must be received/post marked within these ten business days. Balance is due 30 days prior to arrival date.
If you cancel within 30 days before your arrival date, you will be refunded half of your deposit unless a substitute hunter can be found.
Any cancellation after 30 days prior to arrival there will be no refunds.
Due to the assumption of risk with wilderness recreation and hunting, ALL clients will be required to sign a hold harmless agreement before any hunting can take place.
All hunting clients must buy their own licenses through the State of Missouri and meet any Hunter education requirements set forth by the state. Clients will abide all game laws set forth by the State of Missouri while hunting with DBO Missouri Whitetails LLC.
